Dictionary Definitions

• n., A copy of a document to which changes or insertions are made to reflect identical changes and insertions made in the original. [Webster’s New World Law Dictionary. c2006]
• n., An exact copy of a document bearing written explanations of things that were not or could not be copied, such as a note on the document indicating that it was signed by a person whose signature appears on the original. [Black’s Law Dictionary, 8th ed. c2004]
• n., An exact copy of a document on which has been written explanations of things that could not or were not copied; e.g., written signature might be replaced on conformed copy with notation that it was signed by the person whose signature appears on the original.
